Major travel corridors are the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 17) and the "King's Highway (Highway 11) that go east and west. North/South routes include Highway 105 - "The Red Lake Road", Highway 71 "The Heenan Highway" along the east side of Lake of the Woods, Highway 502 "The Manitou Road" and Highway 599 "The Wilderness Corridor" - the latter being Ontario's most northerly all-season, all-weather road. You can also make the very worthwhile trek up Highway 72 to the Town of Sioux Lookout where there is much to see and do. Another scenic driving route is Highway 596 which ends in the picturesque resort community of Minaki situated on the shores of the might Winnipeg River system.
